Citroen has released first details of the new C3, a completely redesigned Eco-car that builds on the success of the C3 supermini, which has sold more than 2 million units. The new C3 HDi 90 will come with a clean diesel that emits 99 g/km CO2 (about 75 mpg), which would make it one of the cleanest-burning cars sold in the EU. An upgraded engine in 2011 will feature stop-start technology that will cut emissions even further to 90g/km. Citroen will soon add a new 3-cylinder gas engine to the lineup that will also come in below the 100g/km threshold. (Source: Green Car Congress, June 28, 2009).
